Tips to help your family sit less and move more

We’ve got a whole library of practical tips to help you and your family get moving! Keep it fun by trying out some of our challenges, too.


  • Try mixing things up each week to help work different muscle groups and improve your kids' posture, mobility and balance. Why not watch a clip on YouTube of stretching and do bursts of activity during a TV ad break - the kids can get involved too.

  • Your little ones will love playing with balls, bats, tricycles and kites (with supervision) – they're all activities that encourage movement.

  • Shovelling or carrying heavy loads counts as physical activity, so keep it in mind when you have work to do in the garden!

  • Get your little ones moving to music or try action songs like 'Head-Shoulders-Knees and Toes'.

  • Doing physical activity as a family helps you all to stick to your new routine - it's much more fun being active together!
