Tips to help your family sit less and move more

We’ve got a whole library of practical tips to help you and your family get moving! Keep it fun by trying out some of our challenges, too.


  • There are many strength building activities that are not necessarily what you would see as exercise - digging, carrying or lifting all count.

  • For short trips in and around where you live, you and your family can walk, ride your bikes or rollerblade... do whichever suits your family best.  

  • Break up long periods of sitting as often as possible by taking regular breaks and walking somewhere - break it up into three 10 minute walks during your day!

  • Blow bubbles and make a game of the kids chasing, catching and popping them. Make a tally of how many bubbles they catch and see if they can catch one more each time!

  • Make bedrooms TV and computer free zones.
