We’ve got a whole library of practical tips to help you and your family get moving! Keep it fun by trying out some of our challenges, too.
Try mixing things up - go bike riding, play touch footy at one of your local ovals, go swimming at a public pool or go for a brisk walk (or even a light jog and see if your kids can keep up).
Don't forget, shovelling or carrying heavy loads makes you huff and puff which counts as vigorous activity.
For short trips in and around where you live, you and your family can walk, ride your bikes or rollerblade... do whichever suits your family best.
Join up with another family at the park and form teams to play a game of cricket or soccer.
Getting the benefits of moderate exercise is not about big workouts and exhaustion. Try getting in extra steps throughout the day. Go for a walk around the block at lunchtime, meet other families for a walk around the lake or take the stairs rather than the escalator at the shops.
