Tips to help your family sit less and move more

We’ve got a whole library of practical tips to help you and your family get moving! Keep it fun by trying out some of our challenges, too.


  • Rediscover classic playground games with your kids, like hide-and-seek, follow the leader, stuck in the mud, or tip/tag games.

  • Get your family into some fun activities that strengthen their muscles, like swinging on monkey bars, playing tug-o-war or gymnastics.

  • Doing any physical activity is better than none - every little bit counts. So if you're getting active for the first time or just starting out and feel a little nervous, trying new activities together with friends or family will help.

  • If your child is in a stroller encourage them to walk for some of the journey.

  • Get more out of 'tummy time' - lay on the floor with your baby and place toys around them to encourage grasping, reaching, leg kicking and head lifting.
