Tips to help your family sit less and move more

We’ve got a whole library of practical tips to help you and your family get moving! Keep it fun by trying out some of our challenges, too.


  • Put active family time in your diary. Visit playgrounds, parks, nature reserves, or ovals. Track how much time you are spending being active on our Habit tracker.

  • You don't have to block out a whole afternoon for exercise. Take a stop watch, make ten minutes each day your goal and don't stop walking until you hit it!

  • If it's raining outside, move the fun indoors with a dance competition, play games with balloons or soft balls, or head to your local indoor swimming pool.

  • Encourage your kids to grow strong bones and muscles by getting them to skip, hop, run and jump.

  • Make physical activity part of your family's routine. The more regular your efforts in keeping active, the more likely you are to stick to your new healthy active lifestyle.
