Tips to help your family sit less and move more

We’ve got a whole library of practical tips to help you and your family get moving! Keep it fun by trying out some of our challenges, too.


  • Next time you and the kids are heading out for a walk, why not see if your neighbour would like to join you?

  • Blow bubbles and make a game of the kids chasing, catching and popping them. Make a tally of how many bubbles they catch and see if they can catch one more each time!

  • Make physical activity part of your family's routine. The more regular your efforts in keeping active, the more likely you are to stick to your new healthy active lifestyle.

  • Join up with another family at the park and form teams to play a game of cricket or soccer.

  • A fun way to get active while reading with your kids is to read a book out loud and act out parts of the story. If a character is running, you could run on the spot or around the house too.
