Tips to help your family sit less and move more

  • Make a pledge to limit your family’s screen time. Make the most of time spent together and have fun by playing games or getting moving in some way.

  • Family walks are a great way to be active while spending time talking together as a family.

  • Don't forget, shovelling or carrying heavy loads makes you huff and puff which counts as vigorous activity.

  • If you're getting active for the first time or just starting out and feel a little nervous, trying new activities together as a family is a great way to help support you and overcome any fears.

  • For short trips in and around where you live, you and your family can walk, ride your bikes or rollerblade... do whichever suits your family best.
