Tips to get your family into life

With a few pointers from the tips below, you and your family could get more out of every day. Or, try some of our challenges to really get things rolling!


  • Make a pledge to limit your family's screen time. Make the most of time spent together and have fun by playing games or getting moving in some way.

  • Next time, instead of rewarding the kids with TV, computer or electronic games, why not reward them with balls, kites, skipping ropes or something that gets them active?

  • There are endless ways you can motivate your family to move more at home like a game of backyard cricket, soccer, or basketball. And by being physically active with your family, you're also being a great role model for your kids.

  • Doing physical activity as a family will help you all to stick to your new routine - it's much more fun being active together!

  • Try using incentives to get your kids to want to eat at the table. Your younger ones could blow out a candle at the end of the meal and older kids could light the candle (under parental supervision).
