Tips to get your family into life

With a few pointers from the tips below, you and your family could get more out of every day. Or, try some of our challenges to really get things rolling!


  • Have a look at what's on at your local Communities@Work community centre. Often there's free classes you can do or groups you can join with other like-minded people and families.

  • Plan your meals before the week gets busy and get the kids involved with setting the table and preparing the food. Not only will your kids benefit from better eating habits, your whole family will get the opportunity to speak to each other without any other distractions.

  • Make bedrooms TV and computer free zones.

  • Often our lives get so busy it's hard to find time to connect with other like-minded people. If you're not already, try to set up a monthly play group with a few friends who might be going through similar challenges as you are. The kids can play and you can catch up on all the news.

  • Try to reduce your screen time by turning off the TV, computer or game device when they're not in use.
