With a few pointers from the tips below, you and your family could get more out of every day. Or, try some of our challenges to really get things rolling!
Try volunteering in your local community. You can help a cause that interests you, and can offer as little or as much of your time as you like.
Consider joining a community group or club in your local area. You could try anything from a sporting group to a special interest group for things like photography, craft or cooking. Go to the Connect and Participate Expo to find a club for you and your family.
Often our lives get so busy it's hard to find time to connect with other like-minded people. If you're not already, try to set up a monthly play group with a few friends who might be going through similar challenges as you are. The kids can play and you can catch up on all the news.
Kids aged five and over should limit watching TV or playing electronic games for entertainment to no more than two hours per day.
Try using incentives to get your kids to want to eat at the table. Your younger ones could blow out a candle at the end of the meal and older kids could light the candle (under parental supervision).
