Tips to get your family into life

With a few pointers from the tips below, you and your family could get more out of every day. Or, try some of our challenges to really get things rolling!


  • Try to eat most meals at the dinner table away from distractions such as TV or other electronic screens.

  • Life as a parent often feels like it's a rush from one thing to the next. Try to take some time out for yourself this week by locking a coffee date with a friend into your diary or catching up for some adult conversation. Your kids will learn that fostering friendships is important.

  • Make a pledge to limit your family’s screen time. Make the most of time spent together and have fun by playing games or getting moving in some way.

  • Try to remember to switch off distractions like your phone while talking with your kids - it'll remind them that they're important to you.

  • Give your kids chances to practice talking with others and learn how to listen and be understood, share, take turns, follow rules and be kind and helpful.
