Tips to get your family into life

With a few pointers from the tips below, you and your family could get more out of every day. Or, try some of our challenges to really get things rolling!


  • Staying in regular contact with the people in your life - and the community around you - can improve your self-esteem.

  • A good way to make sure you're regularly spending time with others is to set up a monthly get-together. Whether it's going to your mothers' group with the kids, or having a healthy afternoon tea at someone's house, set up a monthly time to meet and see if you can alternate locations.

  • Try to reduce your screen time by turning off the TV, computer or game device when they're not in use.

  • There are endless ways you can motivate your family to move more at home like a game of backyard cricket, soccer, or basketball. And by being physically active with your family, you're also being a great role model for your kids.

  • Plant a small garden together - the kids will have fun and learn as they decide which plants to grow in the garden they helped to build.
