With a few pointers from the tips below, you and your family could get more out of every day. Or, try some of our challenges to really get things rolling!
Raining outside? Set up an indoor obstacle course for the kids using boxes, couch cushions, blankets, or any other household items you can find. Download the Four games to keep you moving indoors game card from our Resources.
Join up with another family at the park and form teams to play a game of cricket or soccer.
Try using our Habit Tracker to keep track of how often each family member spends in front of a screen. Using the television, electronic games, portable electronic devices or computers for entertainment can quickly add up.
Sitting on the couch or in front of a screen and mindlessly eating can seem like the easy option some days, but it can mean we're not paying attention to what or how much we're eating. Try to turn the TV off while eating a meal with your family to avoid any distractions.
Try using incentives to get your kids to want to eat at the table. Your younger ones could blow out a candle at the end of the meal and older kids could light the candle (under parental supervision).
