Tips to get your family into life

With a few pointers from the tips below, you and your family could get more out of every day. Or, try some of our challenges to really get things rolling!


  • If your family finds it hard to disconnect from digital media, try putting your laptop, smartphone and other devices in a cupboard or somewhere out of sight for a set period of time.

  • Make bedrooms TV and computer free zones.

  • Consider a regular family catch up. Enjoying good relationships with family, friends and the wider community will benefit your whole family’s wellbeing.

  • Make a pledge to limit your family’s screen time. Make the most of time spent together and have fun by playing games or getting moving in some way.

  • Encourage polite and respectful behaviour at meal times. Try to wait until everyone is seated before you start eating.
