How many serves per day do your kids need?*

The number of serves will depend on the age of your child.  

Infants aged 7 - 12 months 

Solid foods should be commenced gradually, introducing different tastes and textures as a baby grows. It may take a while to reach the following recommendations:

How big is a single serve?

A serve of fruit about is about 150g or:

  • 1 cup of canned or chopped fruit

  • 1 piece of medium fruit, e.g. apple, pear, banana

  • 2 pieces of smaller fruit, e.g. apricots, plums, kiwi fruit

A serve of vegetables is about 75g or:

  • 1 cup of salad vegetables

  • 1/2 a medium potato or other starchy vegetables

  • 1/2 a cup of cooked vegetables or legumes
