Challenge your family to eat well
A great way to change your family’s eating habits for the better is to set yourselves a challenge. We've even created some tips to help you start eating better today!
Challenge your kids to help you with dinner one or two days this week. With your help, they could do anything from washing vegies, putting frozen vegies on an oven tray, stirring the pot on the stove, through to setting the table.
Add a different vegie to your dinner table each night this week as a side to your meal. Have everyone in the family give it a taste - you don't have to eat it all. You might all discover some vegies that you can enjoy together and add to your family's menu.
Can you and your family cut down by one sugary drink a day for one week? If you don't succeed one week, don’t beat yourself up and try again the next week.
Can everyone in your family take their water bottle with them every day for the next week?
Try a 'Vegie Rainbow' this week. Try eating seven different coloured vegetables over the week. For example carrots (orange), beetroot (purple), broccoli (green), red capsicum (red), squash (yellow), parsnip (white) and cooked mushrooms (brown).
