Tips to help your family sit less and move more

We’ve got a whole library of practical tips to help you and your family get moving! Keep it fun by trying out some of our challenges, too.


  • Encourage your kids to grow strong bones and muscles by getting them to skip, hop, run and jump.

  • If it's raining outside, why not pretend to be the weather? Swirl like the wind, stomp and clap like thunder, or dance a sunny jig to chase the clouds away!

  • Doing any physical activity is better than none - every little bit counts. So if you're getting active for the first time or just starting out and feel a little nervous, trying new activities together with friends or family will help.

  • Get your little ones moving to music or try action songs like 'Head-Shoulders-Knees and Toes'.

  • Family walks are a great way to be active while spending time talking together as a family.
