A great way to get the family moving together - especially something that makes you huff and puff a bit - is to play a game of tag together. For more game ideas, check out our downloadable Resources.
By limiting the time you spend sitting or lying down you can help reduce your risk of some cancers and prevent unhealthy weight gain.
Like most changes, start small. Try doing ten laps of the backyard jogging or get the skipping rope out. Any activity that gets your heart rate up and huffing and puffing will do you good.
Even if you are physically active, you will still benefit from limiting the amount of time you spend sitting or lying down. If you're travelling, stop at a park or rest areas so you can get out and move, or if your kids are in a stroller encourage them to walk for some of the journey.
If you're able to pick the kids up after school, why not head straight to the park for some fun time together?
