We’ve got a whole library of practical tips to help you and your family get moving! Keep it fun by trying out some of our challenges, too.
Try to limit the time your kids spend sitting or lying down. To get the kids moving more, get the kids to move in the ad breaks of their favourite TV show.
A fun way to get active while reading with your kids is to read a book out loud and act out parts of the story. If a character is running, you could run on the spot or around the house too.
When playing outdoors, you don't need toys or expensive exercise equipment – improvise with household or garden items such as brooms, rakes, empty plastic bottles and so on and set up your own obstacle course. (Just make sure kids have sun protection, such as sunscreen, hats and shade.)
Pretending to move like different animals is a fun way for your kids to be active, become more aware of their bodies and to learn along the way. Download our indoor or outdoor dice games to get your family moving!
Physical activity helps boost your heart and lungs' ability to get blood to your muscles.
