Tips to help your family sit less and move more

We’ve got a whole library of practical tips to help you and your family get moving! Keep it fun by trying out some of our challenges, too.


  • Your little ones will love playing with balls, bats, tricycles and kites (with supervision) – they're all activities that encourage movement.

  • Increase the intensity and length of your physical activity sessions gradually. If you go too hard too fast, you'll just burn yourself out and stop altogether.

  • If you're driving for more than two hours, stop, revive and survive. Stop at a park or rest area so you can all get out and move.

  • Physical activity doesn't always need to be organised sport, or going to the gym - it can be as simple as finding fun ways to move your body.

  • Try to mix things up - play with a frisbee or skipping rope, or go for a jog while the kids ride their bikes.
