Tips to help your family sit less and move more

We’ve got a whole library of practical tips to help you and your family get moving! Keep it fun by trying out some of our challenges, too.


  • We know it can be hard to do 60 minutes of activity a day - so start with 10 minutes once or twice a day and build your way up.

  • Shovelling or carrying heavy loads counts as physical activity, so keep it in mind when you have work to do in the garden!

  • Remember, doing any physical activity is better than none! Try using our Habit tracker to keep a track of how often your family does vigorous physical activity.

  • By incorporating physical activity into your family's daily life, you are on your way to a healthier weight, more energy and a better night's sleep.

  • Need something from the local shops? Leave the car at home and walk instead.
