Tips to help your family sit less and move more

We’ve got a whole library of practical tips to help you and your family get moving! Keep it fun by trying out some of our challenges, too.


  • Try mixing things up - go bike riding, play touch footy at one of your local ovals, go swimming at a public pool or go for a brisk walk (or even a light jog and see if your kids can keep up).

  • A great way to get the family moving together - especially something that makes you huff and puff a bit - is to play a game of tag together. For more game ideas, check out our downloadable Resources.

  • Try using our Habit Tracker to keep track of how often your kids do strength building exercise.

  • Try to limit how much time you and your family spend sitting down during the day. Get moving and play a fun game instead - plenty of ideas can be found in our Resources.

  • Take the stairs instead of the lift or escalator. Or if you're on an escalator, keep walking anyway.
