Tips to help your family sit less and move more

We’ve got a whole library of practical tips to help you and your family get moving! Keep it fun by trying out some of our challenges, too.


  • Get the kids involved in the garden. They can help with tasks like digging holes for plants, carrying watering cans or raking leaves into piles.

  • If you're self-conscious about your body, start by being active with a partner or friend - or your whole family. Strength in numbers!

  • On your little one's birthday, include a present that involves being active. A hacky sack, Frisbee, skipping rope or football are all great options.

  • Once you've started and you're being active on a regular basis, you'll find it gets easier.

  • Physical activity doesn't always need to be organised sport, or going to the gym - it can be as simple as finding fun ways to move your body.
