Tips to help your family sit less and move more

We’ve got a whole library of practical tips to help you and your family get moving! Keep it fun by trying out some of our challenges, too.


  • Build a small garden together as a family - the kids can have fun and learn as they decide which plants to grow in the garden they helped to build.

  • Your little ones will love opportunities to practice their kicking and catching balls, climbing and balancing with you.

  • You don't need fancy gadgets or expensive equipment for strength building exercises – the stairs or park bench will do! Try doing exercises that use your body weight like push-ups, squats or lunges.

  • Getting the benefits of moderate exercise is not about big workouts and exhaustion. Try getting in extra steps throughout the day. Go for a walk around the block at lunchtime, meet other families for a walk around the lake or take the stairs rather than the escalator at the shops.

  • Short bursts of play and activity with your kids can quickly add up. Every little bit counts!
