Tips to get your family into life

With a few pointers from the tips below, you and your family could get more out of every day. Or, try some of our challenges to really get things rolling!


  • Often our lives get so busy it's hard to find time to connect with other like-minded people. If you're not already, try to set up a monthly play group with a few friends who might be going through similar challenges as you are. The kids can play and you can catch up on all the news.

  • There are lots of ways you can help your community, like delivering meals to those in need, reading books to children, or door-to-door collecting for charity. Volunteering ACT has great ideas on where to start.

  • If it's raining outside, why not pretend to be the weather? Swirl like the wind, stomp and clap like thunder, or dance a sunny jig to chase the clouds away!

  • It's not always easy but try to serve the same healthy meal to the whole family - it's a great way to be together and enjoy eating.

  • Try to eat most meals at the dinner table away from distractions such as TV or other electronic screens.
