Try using incentives to get your kids to want to eat at the table. Your younger ones could blow out a candle at the end of the meal and older kids could light the candle (under parental supervision).
Play word games together. Make up pretend words, "knock knock" jokes or "why did the chicken cross the road?" jokes… anything that makes you all laugh!
After school one day, why not have a surprise picnic with the kids and chat with them about their day at school?
