With a few pointers from the tips below, you and your family could get more out of every day. Or, try some of our challenges to really get things rolling!
Try to remember to switch off distractions like your phone while talking with your kids - it'll remind them that they're important to you.
Consider joining a community group or club in your local area. You could try anything from a sporting group to a special interest group for things like photography, craft or cooking. Go to the Connect and Participate Expo to find a club for you and your family.
On long car trips be aware of screen time and switch off for a set time. Play fun games like making words out of other cars' number plates, 'I spy', or you can all sing along to music (making sure to change the rhyming words to make it a funny song).
Try to set a good example at home by reducing electronic media use for entertainment. Turn off the TV - especially at meal times - and make bedrooms TV and computer free zones.
One weekend a month try not to focus on all the jobs you have to do around the house and take some time out to connect with those who are important to you.
