Tips to get your family into life

With a few pointers from the tips below, you and your family could get more out of every day. Or, try some of our challenges to really get things rolling!


  • Try to remember to switch off distractions like your phone while talking with your kids - it'll remind them that they're important to you.

  • Dinner time can sometimes be too difficult at the end of a busy day - why not start a day together as a family? Eating together is a great way to share what the day's plans are and get everyone off to a positive start!

  • Try to give your kids your full attention if they're telling you about their day - it'll remind them just how important they are to you.

  • Try using incentives to get your kids to want to eat at the table. Your younger ones could blow out a candle at the end of the meal and older kids could light the candle (under parental supervision).

  • Try using our Habit Tracker to keep track of how often each family member spends in front of a screen. Using the television, electronic games, portable electronic devices or computers for entertainment can quickly add up.
