Tips to get your family into life

With a few pointers from the tips below, you and your family could get more out of every day. Or, try some of our challenges to really get things rolling!


  • Try to remember to switch off distractions like your phone while talking with your kids - it'll remind them that they're important to you.

  • Get cooking. Make your favourite dinner together or maybe just a tasty after-school snack.

  • Encourage polite and respectful behaviour at meal times. Try to wait until everyone is seated before you start eating.

  • It's not always easy but try to eat most meals at the dinner table away from distractions such as TV or other electronic screens.

  • Life as a parent often feels like it's a rush from one thing to the next. Try to take some time out for yourself this week by locking a coffee date with a friend into your diary or catching up for some adult conversation. Your kids will learn that fostering friendships is important.
