Tips to get your family into life

With a few pointers from the tips below, you and your family could get more out of every day. Or, try some of our challenges to really get things rolling!


  • Life as a parent often feels like it's a rush from one thing to the next. Try to take some time out for yourself this week by locking a coffee date with a friend into your diary or catching up for some adult conversation. Your kids will learn that fostering friendships is important.

  • Try mixing it up a bit and let your children take turns choosing what activity the family will do next.

  • It's not always easy but try to serve the same healthy meal to the whole family - it's a great way to be together and enjoy eating.

  • Playing with balloons can be fun and active for all ages. Join the kids in a game of punching, kicking or throwing balloons and keeping them off the ground for as long as possible.

  • Try to set a good example at home by reducing electronic media use for entertainment. Turn off the TV - especially at meal times - and make bedrooms TV and computer free zones.
