Tips to get your family into life

With a few pointers from the tips below, you and your family could get more out of every day. Or, try some of our challenges to really get things rolling!


  • Life as a parent often feels like it's a rush from one thing to the next. Try to take some time out for yourself this week by locking a coffee date with a friend into your diary or catching up for some adult conversation. Your kids will learn that fostering friendships is important.

  • Try to eat most meals at the dinner table away from distractions such as TV or other electronic screens.

  • Having strong, broad social connections in your life can increase feelings of happiness and self-worth in you... and in your kids.

  • There are endless ways you can motivate your family to move more at home like a game of backyard cricket, soccer, or basketball. And by being physically active with your family, you're also being a great role model for your kids.

  • For many of us, it can be hard to stay on top of everything in such a busy schedule. Often a 'walk and talk' is a good way to catch up with others and the kids can come along and run around.
