It's not always easy but try to eat a whole piece of fruit (like an orange) instead of drinking fruit juice. More nutrients, less sugar.
It can be hard but try to include a variety of different coloured vegetables each day (e.g. red, orange, yellow, green, blue/purple and white) to give your family's bodies the nutrients they need to stay healthy.
Have a go at cutting back on sugary drinks by just one soft drink a day to start with. Try to replace a soft drink with sparkling plain water or add slices of lemon, lime or mint to your water for that extra zing. Remember, small changes can make a big difference!
Try using our Habit tracker to keep a track of how often your family has fruit each day.
At snack time, offer your child vegies with a dip or spread. Try low-fat cream cheese, peanut butter, avocado, salsa dip or hummus. For more healthy snack ideas, check out our Recipes.
