Challenge your family to get into life
These are challenges to help your family get more out of life – but they're so much fun, they won’t really feel that challenging at all! Plus, you can try our handy tips to help get you started.


  • Try making some art while out for a walk this week. Paper rubbings are a great way to add some fun to a walk. Take some sheets of paper and some crayons along with you and encourage the kids to place their paper over any surface they find interesting, then rub the side of their crayon gently over the paper. Voila! An image of the surface underneath will appear as if by magic. Surfaces for rubbings can be anything from interesting pavers, brick walls, a fence, or rocks and leaves in the garden.

  • Can your family eat a meal together twice over the course of a week? If you can't get the whole family together at once get as many family members together as you can.

  • Do two activities with your family and either another family or friends from our printable Resources.

  • The garden is a constant source of wonder for young kids, so why not get them involved? They can help with fun, active tasks like digging holes for plants, carrying watering cans or raking leaves into piles. If you plant herbs or vegies you could even pop around to say hello to your neighbours with some yummy, home-grown food!

  • Stage a ‘Superchef Kids’ event at home. Make chef hats and supervise as the kids run the kitchen. You’ll connect with your kids while they have fun and learn about healthier eating choices.
